Bosvena School will be research focused, innovative and aspirational in its practice where the development of pupils’ SEMH skills are at the centre of our work.
The school will cater for 65 pupils who are aged 4 to 16 and will serve the community of Cornwall.
Bosvena is close to Bodmin with easy access to the A30/A38. The school is due to open in September 2025 and the building works are progressing well.
About the role
As the Premises Supervisor you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, secure and well-functioning learning environment through site management, health and safety compliance, security and maintenance to ensure the school remains a safe and accessible space for students with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the school premises, including maintenance, security, and health & safety compliance.
- Conduct regular site inspections and address any maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure the school is compliant with health and safety regulations, including fire safety and risk assessments.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of cleaning, maintenance, and external contractors.
- Maintain heating, lighting, and security systems, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance to uphold high standards across the school.
- Ensure all outdoor areas, including playgrounds and parking spaces, are safe and well-kept.
- Support emergency and evacuation procedures, acting as a keyholder for the school.
- Manage stock levels of maintenance and cleaning supplies and place orders as needed.
- Assist with room setups for events, meetings, and school activities.
What We Are Looking For:
- Previous experience in a premises/facilities management role, preferably in a school or similar setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to carry out basic maintenance and repairs.
- Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to site management.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, working collaboratively with staff and contractors.
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends when required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Level 2 NVQ in a recognised trade or Minimum of 5 GCSE’s A-C (Inc. English and maths), plus suitable trade certificates
- Basic Health & Safety qualification
- Experience of H&S in the workplace
- Lifting & manual handling training
- Good standard of practical knowledge, skills and experience of building and grounds maintenance work
- Good communication skills
- Good management and administrative skills
- IT qualification or IT systems experience.
