What is a Free School?

Free Schools are schools that are funded by the government but are not run by the local authority. They have more control over how they do things. 

How do I apply for new vacancies at Bosvena school?

We hope to advertise the Headteacher vacancy in autumn term 2024.

Following this, we will be advertising vacancies for staff. Please refer to the vacancies page for more details and to see the live adverts. 

How can I apply for a school place for my child?

Please see the admissions page for more details. The local authority are responsible for all admissions to specialist schools. 

What is a section 10 consultation?

As part of the process of opening a new Free School, the Department for Education requires a consultation under Section 10 of the Academies Act 2010. The consultation consists of a questionnaire that is shared with the local community, stakeholders and interested parties to be able to share their views. This means we will be able to share the best facilities and opportunities for the area. Please see the consultation page to find more information and the questionnaire.

When will the school be opening? 

The building works commenced in June 2024 with an expected finish in summer 2025 ready to open to students in September 2025. 

Where will the school be located?

Bosvena school will be located in Bodmin.
